Players Get Ready for Alabama

Flattering isn't it?

LSU will welcome in the Alabama Crimson Tide for their biggest home game of the season Saturday. Both teams are looking to stay alive in the SEC West and BCS National Championship picture.

Today, "Lunch w/ Les" was filled with plenty of questions for Les Miles regarding the talented Alabama offense. I would jot down some quotes, but the wonderful people at LSU Sports has the whole conference verbatim on the official site

Here are some news and notes I found interesting from the LSU players from interviews today...

  • I was impressed with how the offensive line responded after Auburn. There was a buzz going around today that Joseph Barksdale was very outspoken after LSU's poor performance up front. The big men up front called a unit only meeting after their first poor performance of the year.
  • Guard Josh Dworaczyk told me he was angry with himself after his performance versus Auburn. He knows it won't get easier when he faces explosive defensive lineman Marcell Dareus this weekend. He described Dareus as having a "good motor" to me earlier.
  • Stevan Ridley said he wasn't disappointed with the coaching staff after only getting the ball 12     times for 37 yards against Auburn. His face lit up after being asked about the physicality of Alabama. Ridley has said multiple times this year he enjoys being a "physical back."
  • Starting defensive backs Morris Claiborne and Brandon Taylor had much to say about Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones. But those quotes will have to wait for later in the week as my breakdown of "Jones vs Peterson" will be posted later in the week. (I'm sorry if you think I am evil.)
(P.S. But hey, at least you can check out what Patrick Peterson had to say about his "Round 3" matchup versus Jones by clicking here.)
