Brandon Taylor -- LSU Media Day

Carter "The Power" Bryant Monday, August 23, 2010 , , , , , , , , ,

LSU safety Brandon Taylor talks about playing in the box, his role on LSU, what he expects from the Tigers, and most importantly 'Swag.'

Taylor is one of the Tigers that didn't get as much publicity during the offseason, but the hard hitting safety brings a lot more to the table than one would expect from looking at him.

Coming into Baton Rouge, Brandon was more well known as the younger brother of Curtis Taylor, who was one of the starting safeties on the LSU National Championship team in 2007. But with Brandon's production from last season, the junior made a name for himself.

Taylor mentioned in the interview about how he loves playing close to the line of scrimmage. He was spectacular in tackling in the open field despite the one hiccup against Alabama receiver Julio Jones. But even in that case, Taylor was put in a bad position when he had to move to corner that play because Patrick Peterson was nicked up on the play before.

With Chad Jones jumping early to the NFL, Taylor will need to increase his production and leadership in a secondary full of 5-star talents. If the Franklinton, La. superstar develops his ball skills, he can have a great season for defensive coordinator John Chavis.
