Michael Ford -- LSU Media Day

Carter "The Power" Bryant Friday, August 27, 2010 , , , , ,

LSU running back Michael Ford talks about what it means to be a balanced back, what he's done during the offseason and his biceps.

Ford will be an interesting player for the Tigers next season as a redshirt freshman. Since coming in to the LSU program, it has been well documented how dominant of force Ford is in the weight room.

Stevan Ridley seems to be the frontrunner at moment at running back while Richard Murphy now wears the #18 jersey for the Tigers. I believe Ridley will start off the season with the bulk of the carries, especially after a good offseason and spring game.

But with no clear cut number one runner, Ford will have a chance to come in and make plays in the offense.

Even if Ford isn't the starter, he needs to be ready to play at anytime this season. Murphy, Charles Scott and Keiland Williams all ended their 2009 campaigns with vicious season ending injuries.

I also believe the rushing attack will get better because of the much improved offensive line. The group had some moving and shaking done this offseason to help improve their ability to knock people off the line of scrimmage.

Ford will get his chance eventually to carry the load, it depends if it happens this season.
