Miles Remains at LSU, Schad Remains Confusing

Les Miles will return as LSU's head coach next season.

Miles addressed the situation earlier today in Dallas at the AFCA coaches conference.

LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said about Miles, "We look forward to many years of LSU Football under his leadership."

ESPN's Joe Schad was once again the center of the college football reporting world. And once again his reporting left a lot to be desired by college football fans.

Schad reported earlier this week that LSU could possibly waive or lower Miles $1.25 million dollar buyout. He then would later say a source close to the situation said if the Michigan job was offered to Miles, he would take it.

WAFB reported Miles met with Michigan AD Dave Brandon Monday night. After "The Mad Hatter" said he was staying in Baton Rouge, Schad said Miles wouldn't comment if the Michigan job was ever offered to him. Schad tweeted soon after something I have yet to understand...

An LSU source claims Miles was offered Michigan; another person briefed on search said he was a "candidate not the candidate."

What in the name of Jacob Hester is he talking about here?

For those who don't believe Twitter is one of the most powerful resources of college football media, this whole fiasco could possibly change your mind. Nearly every link on this post so far has linked back to the social networking giant.

If anybody can make sense of what exactly Schad is trying to say or do, please inform me. I had a good chuckle last night when the "ESPN Bottom Line" during the Tennessee vs Florida basketball game said "Sources" covered every possible scenario that could have essentially happen in the Miles situation.

I didn't know LSU football could get so confusing. Much credit must be given to the Pod Katt of AndTheValleyShook.com for his skepticism of Schad's reporting. (Best LSU fan site I have found by the way. My readers should check them out).

Schad is a solid reporter. All of his reports could easily be true. Maybe Miles was never offered the Michigan job. But it seems to most that he has made a mess of the situation.

Miles will meet with the media at 10:30 CT. I will be attending the conference where hopefully LSU fans can find more answers. Audio from the conference can be heard at LSUSports.net.

I'm sure there will be fireworks tomorrow. (Sorry Tiger fans. I had to link a Katy Perry video after a long day here in Baton Rouge.)
